Round about 1947 (when he was 30) he started the modern jazz. (called be-bop.) Not exactly a blockbuster! (his records sold so-so.) In the 50-ies he ended up in psychiatry. And was given ECT-treatment, anti-psychotics and lithium. (even more in the 60-ies, according to his son.) The fully fledged schizophrenic! (some say bipolar.)
