Of course if you have reached a position in society you can come out as a loonie. "I am a bipolar!" (or whatever your diagnosis is.) (often the reaction is not as you expect. People don´t faint in shock. They say like "Oh yeah?? Tell us something else we didn´t know!") This is my favourite gay person. Stephen Fry, the bipolar bear! (other famous outed loonies: psychiatrist Kay Redfield Jamison and Swedish theologian Ann Heberlein.)
